“…the woman who fears the Lord will be praised.”
“I want to be like the Proverbs 31 woman!”, says almost every Bible believing Christian woman. Proverbs 31 this! Proverbs 31 that! So with this new section i have included on my blog, it seemed just about right to continue off with the Proverbs 31 woman. But hold up! Don’t get too excited i am focusing on just V30.
Proverbs 31:30(NKJV) says “Charm is deceitful, and beauty is passing; but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.”
There are a lot of takeaways in this one verse.
In case you are not too familiar with this chapter, it is basically describing the virtuous woman. In plain language, the Bible says not rely much on our Charm(charm will fade away) and beauty(beauty is short-lived…sickness can reduce it, and so does age, amongst others) because those are not constant. They do not prove our worth.
Rather we are told that the fear of the Lord will cause you to be praised. I believe this is telling us that as women we should aim to place our worth in the one who is most important. I don’t know about you, but i love being praised; be it from professors, parents, friends, significant other..etc. Its just a really great feeling, and i believe this verse points that out to us, that as women, we love to be praised, to be admired. It is in its own way a form of strength to us, it keeps us going.
It is ironic how society has given us this twisted view of self worth. Rather making us place it in the hands of our beauty, material things, men..etc. So my aim today is to remind you all ladies of where you should place your worth, and what is more important. It is easy to get swayed by social media, your marriage, friends, family and other platforms, but be reminded of what the Bible tells us. Be blessed! Xx
I want to end this post with this quote i found online, i can relate with it and i’m sure you can too, but do not dwell on it, just remember Prov.31:30

An interesting take on a most cherished and meaningful chapter in the bible. Being praiseworthy before God simply requires that we seek His approval above that of the world. When we live that way, Judy, both men and women will have more peace and comfort from knowing one fact: We live for a life in glory with God which has no judgment, fears, or sadness…it has no end either.
